Now lets try to make the 'Pay It Forward' domino effect a reality in our classroom, school and maybe even our community. To do this you will need to brainstorm and then choose an act of kindness you strongly believe in. Once you have chosen your act of kindness you are to develop an awareness presentation that will promote this thoughtful deed within our school and community. To get you thinking, click on the image below and take some time to read and then reflect on some of the acts of kindness that are listed on this website and whether you feel these thoughtful deeds can have a positive impact in our community.

"Remember that acts of kindness come in all shapes and sizes. Never underestimate the impact of a small, thoughtful gesture like smiling at a stranger."
Over the past few months our local council has noticed that crime rates and bullying has increased, and would like to promote kindness and the values of friendship, respect and acceptance starting with our local schools and extend this to the wider community. Our class has been assigned the task of creating an awareness presentation to promote kindness within our school and community.
This awareness presentation should target one specific act of kindness you feel is important and would like to see more of within our school and community.

Now we would like you to think of an act of kindness that you have experienced, and how this action made you and others feel. You should also think about what the world would be like if this act of kindness did not exist or was not performed enough.

Your awareness presentation can be completed in a format of your choice, however we suggest you use a poster or poem. Regardless of the format you choose you should include a catchy slogan and explanation about why this act of kindness is important within our community. To help you create your awareness presentation we have created two checklists depending on the format you have chosen that will guide you through the process.
Are you a little unsure of how to create a poster that will promote your act of kindness within our school and community, take some time to view this helpful You-Tube video.

If you think you have finished your poster click on the green tick opposite to self-assess your poster using an assessment checklist. Once you have done this get a classmate to go through the checklist, and give you some hints.
REMEMBER: YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT OUT TWO CHECKLISTS SO YOU CAN SELF AND PEER ASSESS YOUR POSTER.
JUST TO REMIND YOU....
"Poetry is a type of literature that expresses ideas, feelings or tells a story.
You make like to use rhythm and rhyme to write your poem.
Or maybe even an acrostic poem the choice is up to you."
An acrostic poem can be an effective way to convey a message, you might like to try it. To help you click on this link to be taken to a slideshow about acoustic poems. You will have to enter your name (remember first name only) and your topic word which could be any act of kindness.
